Dr. Jin Y. Kim, a practicing periodontist in California is the director of the West Coast Study Club, and Next Level Dentistry, an advanced training institute for dental professionals. Born in Korea, he grew up in Sydney, Australia, where he completed dental school in 1986. He completed a clinical residency at UCLA School of Dentistry, and obtained specialist status in 1998. He is a diplomate in both the American Board of Periodontology and the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry.

 

Jin Kim has extensive experience in clinical dentistry, and in particular, he prides his valuable experiences in general dentistry which he experienced from 1987-1994. During that time, he was able to practice in private practice settings, hospital settings, and academic dentistry, in Australia, Korea, and in California. His exposure to many facets of restorative dentistry gave him advantages in complex interdisciplinary treatment planning which he practices with local peers daily and teaches to dentists around the world.

 

Apart from specialty private practices in Diamond Bar, and West Garden Grove, California, Dr. Kim is currently engaged in teaching dental students, residents, and fellow dental professionals, as a lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry, adjunct professor at Daegu Catholic University and as guest faculty at a number of international dental schools. He has spoken at national and international academic and clinical podiums including the International Association of Dental Research (IADR), Academy of Osseointegration (AO), American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), European Federation of Periodontology (EuroPerio), International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), National Institutes of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD), California Society of Periodontists (CSP), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Korean Academy of Maxillofacial Implants, Columbia Society of Periodontology, and at a number of universities including New York University, USC, UCSF, Loma Linda University, University of Miami, Seoul National University, Wonkwang University, Chosun University, Chung San University, University of Sydney, University of Hong Kong, and of course, his alma mater, UCLA. Dr. Kim’s international lecture appearances span over many states and cities in the USA, Australia, Canada, Spain, England, Jamaica, Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Palestine, Israel, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile.
